Talkeetna Wildwoods Playground is celebrating 10 years since construction! Our little playground has been a hot spot for kids and families for our community as well as for travelling families, and folks from all over South Central Alaska.

Over a decade ago, a group of dedicated parents and community members labored to access funding, community support and volunteer work hours. Now it time for a new generation of kids, parents and businesses to roll up our sleeves and continue to work to maintain the playground so that future generations of kids are able to enjoy healthy, safe,  outdoor and active playtime at Wildwoods.

The company that was hired to build Wildwoods also built some playgrounds in the lower Valley. These playgrounds are falling into disrepair, due to neglect and lack of upkeep. We do not want this to happen here in Talkeetna. This maintenance is not free, so we are seeking your support to secure funds for much needed work that needs to be done.

You can help. While donations of any amount are much appreciated, your family or business can support our playground by purchasing a recycled plastic lumber picket for the fence at the playground. Your financial support will be displayed with your family or business name inscribed for perpetuity.. Your order may be completed on the order form attached.

Your support will go directly to restaining and resealing of wood equipment, 80 cubic yards of woods chips, sand box restoration, purchase and repair of broken and vandalized items and repair of the fence.

The Playground committee of the Talkeetna Community Council is powered by volunteers. We are grateful for your support.

Paypal or credit card donation to the Talkeetna Wildwoods Playground:

We would also like to invite you to our family friendly and kid centered fundraising  and 10 Year celebration event on the afternoon of May 5th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. More details for this event will be finalized and made public in the coming weeks.

Thank you for doing business here in the Upper Susitna Valley. We hope to raise happy healthy children, who will become patrons of your business.
