Mainstreet Area Improvement Committee (ad hoc)
The Talkeetna Mainstreet Improvement Committee was established by the Talkeetna Community Council (TCCI) at their February 2026 meeting
The goal of the Committee is: To propose ideas or projects to the TCCI that would add to the overall betterment of the Talkeetna Mainstreet area, particularly with regards to improving pedestrian safety and safe vehicular traffic flow and parking.
The TCCI asked that the Committee utilize resources and suggestions from prior plans such as the 1999 Comprehensive Plan, 2002 Talkeetna Community/Tourism Plan and Issues and Needs Workbook, the SpUD, as well as feedback from 1/13//26 Community Meeting.
The Committee is being asked to prioritize recommendations for what the community might want to focus on near-term, including steps that could be taken as early as this summer. There may also room for discussing some medium- or long-term recommendations that the Committee can suggest to the council.
